The Deserts and the Bedouin of Southern Israel and the Sinai Peninsula:
- Day 1: Arrival
Tel-Aviv, Israel. Stay overnight at the community village of Neve Shalom,
Oasis of Peace.
- Day 2: Drive
to the Judeo Mountains, Jerusalem and down to the Dead Sea. Hike up
the OENahal David' canyon in the Judeo Desert. Continue south along the
African Rift Valley and camp out.
- Day 3: Visit
the crater of Timna and cross Eilat into the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt.
Drive along the coast of the Red Sea, through the Sinai Desert to the
Bedouin village of Santa Katarina.
- Day 4, 5, 6
& 7: Hiking and backpacking with Bedouin and camels into the mountains,
canyons, and oasis of the central Sinai. On day 7, climb Mount Moses
and observe the sunset. Day 8: Watch an unforgettable sunrise from Mount
Moses. Visit the 12th century monastery of Santa Katarina. Head down
to Shark Bay on the Red Sea coast.
- Day 9 & 10:
Scuba dive and snorkel at the most beautiful reef in the world!
- Day 11:
Drive to Eilat and through the Negev Desert. Camp out in the desert.
- Day 12:
Short day hike in the Ramon Crater, sightseeing and spend the night
at the Sede-Boqer field school.
- Day 13:
Short half-day hike to the waterfalls of Ein Afdat in the Negev Desert.
Stay over night at Neve Shalom.
- Day 14:
Spend a peaceful day relaxing and sightseeing the community village
of Neve Shalom. Learn about the local community, where Jews, Moslems
and Christians live in Peace.
- Day 15:
Flight back from Tel-Aviv, Israel - home.
