Trekking the spectacular Barranca del Cobre, Copper Canyon, northwest Mexico:

  • Day 1: Flight from Los Angeles to Chihuahua, Mexico. Overnight in Chihuahua
  • Day 2: Bus ride to Creel, gateway to Copper Canyon. Hike around Creel and stay overnight.
  • Day 3: Day hike around Creel, visit the Tarahumara Indian village of San Ignacio and Lago Arareco. Stay overnight in Creel.
  • Day 4: Visit the waterfalls Cascada Cusarare and continue to the village of Batopilas, deep in the heart of the canyon country. Short hike around and overnight stay.
  • Day 5: Day hike around Batopilas and over night stay in the village.
  • Day 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10: Round Circuit 5 day trek from Batopilas (Elv.1600 feet) high into the Tarahumara Indian country (Elv. 7700 feet) down to Rio Urique (Elv.1600 feet) and back to Batopilas through another pass of 6000 feet.
  • Day 11: Relaxation in Batopilas.
  • Day 12: Drive up to Creel and stay overnight.
  • Day 13: Drive back to Chihuahua and stay overnight.
  • Day 14: Flight back to Los Angeles.


Jungle Trip to the northern Guatemala and southern Mexico:

  • Day 1: Flight to Guatemala City and over night stay.
  • Day 2: Sightseeing Guatemala City.
  • Day 3: Flight from Guatemala City to Flores and drive to the ruins of Tikal. Afternoon hike through the ruins and overnight in Tikal.
  • Day 4: Early morning visit to the ruins, Grand Plaza and observe sunrise from top of Temple IV. Drive back to Flores and overnight stay.
  • Day 5: Drive to Sayaxche, a small village deep in the jungles of northern Guatemala and make final preparations for the canoe trip.
  • Day 6-16: Canoe trip down Rio de la Passion and Rio Usumacinta, visit the ruins of Altar de Los Sacrificios in Guatemala and Ruins de Yaxchilan in Mexico. Visit the indigenous Indians of this region, ancestors of the Maya Civilization.
  • Day 17: Frontera Corozal, Mexico. Drive to Palenque and stay overnight.
  • Day 18: Early morning visit to the ruins of Palenque. Drive to San Cristobal de Las Casas and stay overnight.
  • Day 19: Sightseeing in San Cristobal de Las Casas and stay overnight.
  • Day 20: Drive to the border and continue to Guatemala City. Overnight stay.
  • Day 21: Flight from Guatemala City back home.
